oh lordy

drink

“Drink! Feck! Arse! Girls!” (the venerable and sagacious Father Jack, in the great 20th-century Irish epic, “Father Ted”)

or, a continuation of our adventures in the Mysterious and Marvellous Land of Feck…

My reasons for posting this:

  • useful information about the use of oils on skin, and choice of oils for this purpose
  • franz here is (IMHO) a Good Egg who asks sensible questions, knows a lot of stuff, and engages intelligently in quality discussion
  • the debunking of myths
  • um, OK, possibly being a good read: but not just entertainment, sententia et solacium
  • in short: utility, truth, and the public good.
Those classic defences against, you guessed it, libel and other forms of defamation.

Two sets of a later responses to that key bit from 11:24, our morgen on mineral oil—

a lot of people do not use it, but it is promoted on this board by a few regulars they post all the time and harrass anyone who disagrees. This board at the same time is used for real people sharing and is also used for corporate shilling. A lot of the questions here are PLANTED to promote certain products like Cerave and mineral oil, welcome to the wonderful world of the internet. 🙂

These two, kinda linked (memo: do NOT drunk-MUA, or whatever it was happened here…), as the comments are posted around about the same time, along with some poisonous contributions to other conversations elsewhere, with which I won’t bore you, gentle sweet reader, as they’re really not worth my even pressing a couple of buttons for taking screenshots:

and then

Before that last bit, but I want to leave the last word to someone else who is good and wise: the following response broke my heart. I’ve been in hospital and had mineral oil used on my skin (yes, you know a skin reaction is severe when it lands you in the ER). I’ve seen people in there with much more serious skin conditions. And I’ve been witness to the stellar work that hospice nurses do; sad circumstances as they always are, but I came away from that with two positives. Embracing the death of the person concerned as an integral part of their life, and with the utmost respect for hospice staff. These are the most amazing nurses in the whole world, ever. Forget silly macho warmongering: you’re looking for a heroic, noble, self-sacrificing job? This is it.
