Where it becomes a huge headache for me is when you add “non-sweatshop” to the mix. Casual wear I can solve–Patagonia, Icebreaker, and Ibex are the holy trinity of clothes around here (I haven’t looked too hard at Icebreaker’s ethics, honestly, because it would destroy SO if he couldn’t shop there. Ibex is really a work-in-progress. Patagonia makes a lot of their clothes overseas, but somehow I trust them anyway.)–but they aren’t exactly professional looking. What little ethical professional wear I can find is usually made for a very tall/thin body type that just doesn’t fit. I’ve “solved” this by just doing the best I can, and keeping everything as long as possible, complete with mending, but yuck.
