“Watership Down”

Richard Adams’s animal-friendly, environmentally-relevant, political allegory–phew–if I have to be forced to sum up one of my favourite childhood books in a nutshell. Reading it for the first time triggered one of several dives into vegetarianism; the first such episode was, classically enough, seeing Bambi when I was about 3 or 4–think I have a thing for fluffy bunny wabbits.

Currently being serialised on BBC Radio 4 Extra. 24 hours left to listen to episode 1, from last Sunday; episode 2 coming up tomorrow (Sunday 2 October), Listen Again similarly available for it for another week.
